Teaching Star Award

Teachers Building Society is delighted to sponsor the Teaching Star Award again at this year's Rock Star Awards.

The award, which is aimed at recognising and rewarding an inspirational teacher under the age of 26 from Dorset or Hampshire at the start of their career, saw some fantastic nominations of local inspirational teachers in 2017 and the Society is hoping for more exceptional nominations in this year's awards.

Simon Beresford, Chief Executive of Teachers Building Society said, “Teachers play a hugely important role in preparing our young people for their future lives and careers. We have a strong affinity with teachers, having been set up to help teachers to own their own home, and we were delighted to be able to shine a light on a local young teacher by sponsoring this award once again."

Last year the award was won by Emma Kingswell - read Emma's story here.

The Rock Awards were started up in 2012 by Angela Piromalli, Founder and CEO of Rock Recruitment, after she felt young people were getting a bad press when she felt they were skilled, enthusiastic individuals who will one day make up our future workforce. She set up the awards to shine a light upon those that have been underappreciated, or need that extra boost of confidence.
