Dean Fensome is Interim Chief Executive of Teachers Building Society

Oct 07, 2016

Dean Fensome has been appointed as Interim Chief Executive of Teachers Building Society, based in Wimborne. He will also continue with his responsibilities as Finance Director.

Dean joined the Society in May 2015 and has over 30 years experience in financial services, including senior roles at the Royal Bank of Scotland and Direct Line Group.

His appointment follows the departure of James Bawa, who had been at the helm at the Dorset-based mutual for 14 years and is to become the new CEO at the Monmouthshire Building Society.

“We have very solid foundations here at Teachers Building Society, with great capital strength, a unique proposition of helping teachers to own their own homes and a reputation for delivering truly personal service,” Dean says. “I know I speak for the whole team here at Teachers when I thank James for his long and distinguished service to the Society and wish him all the very best in his new role at the Monmouthshire.”

Founded in 1966, Teachers Building Society has enjoyed continued strength, with results last year showing an increase in profits and capital.
