Teachers Building Society is proud to sponsor Queen Elizabeth’s School’s U15 Girls Cricket team after they beat off strong competition and made it to the final of the prestigious Lady Taverners Indoor Cricket Competition at Lords.
The tournament for the girls began back in February when they won the right to represent East Dorset at the Dorset Finals. Subsequent great successes resulted in the team then travelled to the University of West England for the Regional Final in April. The girls from Queen Elizabeth won, without losing a game.
The team is captained brilliantly by Lucy Prest and the love of their sport has shone through the whole team in every game they’ve played. Shane Green, Head of Physical Education at the school says “The whole team are excellent ambassadors for Queen Elizabeth’s School, and thoroughly deserve their place at Lords.”
Teachers Building Society was delighted to sponsor the team and James Bawa, Chief Executive from Teachers Building Society, said: “As a local building society, we’re delighted to sponsor the QE U15 Girls Cricket team for this prestigious final – they’ve done a brilliant job to get there, they should be proud of their achievement.”
Queen Elizabeth School was thankful for the sponsorship and Mr Green added “We are very grateful to Teachers who are kindly providing the kit for our team. I’m sure this local support along with students’ own fundraising will help make this opportunity the most memorable experience possible.”
