Nordic-Style Office Makeover Inspires Team at Teachers

Apr 22, 2013

Dorset designer Samantha Denisdottir has transformed the Wimborne headquarters of the Teachers Building Society with an inspirational makeover.

The mutual wanted to modernise its headquarters’ working environment and inspire the team to deliver its ambitious growth plans.

Samantha, owner of Bournemouth’s LoveNordic design company delivered a striking revamp featuring inspirational quotes, original furniture and bright colours.

She paid particular attention to the reception area and staffroom where she produced a contemporary, upbeat environment for customers and staff.

Samantha said: “The colours of the Teachers logo inspired us to inject vitality to the space while still endorsing the brand. In addition to revamping the office, part of our role was to encourage a feeling of wellbeing and appreciation for the staff. The use of quirky, inspirational quotes placed around the space was a fun way of doing this. We also added some beautiful design classics which gave the final result a little Scandi-sparkle!"

The project was the brainchild of recently appointed HR Advisor Jo McLean, who joined the Teachers team in November. Jo said: “We want to not only inspire and motivate the existing staff but also attract new and fresh skilled candidates as we grow. I believe that by re-vamping & modernising the existing office, it will increase productivity and make us a business to be really proud of.” The makeover reflects the Society’s strong red and navy blue brand colours and included improving each desk space with themed but functional accessories.

Teachers Building Society announced its annual results in March, demonstrating a surge in mortgage lending activity and a strategy for strong, steady growth over the next 10 years.
