Teachers Building Society wins Best Local Building Society for the second year running!

Aug 13, 2012

Teachers Building Society has picked up ‘Best Local Building Society’ at the What Mortgage Awards 2012 – the second consecutive year that the Dorset-based mutual has won the coveted title.

At a gala event at Balls Brothers’ Lime Street Exchange in London, chief executive James Bawa collected the trophy, presented by What Mortgage editor Joanne Atkin.

James said, “Just being nominated for the second year running was a huge source of pride for the whole team at Teachers. Winning again is fantastic, particularly as the award is the result of nominations from our customers, so it’s real recognition for the truly personal service we strive to provide. As a mutual, our customers are at the heart of what we do and being named ‘Best Local Building Society’ helps us to raise our profile in our local community and compete with the high street banks.”

What Mortgage is the leading monthly consumer magazine for mortgages in the UK and this year over 24,000 people nominated their favourite providers and advisers for the annual awards.
