Remember, your password is case sensitive.

Keeping your security details safe

At Teachers Building Society, security is our priority. Some customers of banks and building societies have been targeted by fraudsters who use fake emails requesting passwords and other security information. These emails appear to have come from the official bank or building society. Teachers Building Society will never ask you to divulge your password or memorable word via email or any other method. If you receive any email requests of this nature DO NOT RESPOND TO THEM. Instead, contact us immediately.

Contacting us securely

If you need to get in touch with us, why not send a secure message? To send a secure message, log into My Accounts and select 'Messages' from the left-hand menu. Select 'Compose' and enter your message in the box provided.

When we send you a secure message, you will receive an email notification from memberservices@teachersbs.co.uk. To read your secure message, log into My Accounts and select ‘Messages’. Click on the subject title of the new message and then click on the latest new message for that subject to view it.

Logging off securely

Once you have logged on, make sure that you do not leave your computer unattended. For your security, My Accounts will automatically log you out if you do not use the system for several minutes. When you are finished, always log off properly by selecting 'Logout' from the left-hand menu.

Common problems with security details

  • Your user ID is a 6 digit code which is detailed in a letter sent to you after registration
  • Your password will be between 8-15 characters long. It will contain at minimum of 1 number, 1 special character and a mixture of upper and lowercase letters
  • Your memorable word will be between 8-15 characters long

If you enter your security information incorrectly too many times, we may suspend your access to the system. You will then be required to reset your security details (please refer to the section below).

What do I do if I've forgotten my security information?

  • Go to www.teachersbs.co.uk/my-accounts
  • Click 'Log in here'
  • Select ‘Forgot Password?’
  • Enter your user ID and account number
  • Create a new password and memorable word
  • Once submitted, you will receive an email confirming a new activation key
  • You will then be able to log on with your new security details

What is an activation key?

When you view your mortgage or savings account online for the first time, you will need to enter an activation key to access to your account(s). An activation key is a security code. Once you have received the activation key (either by letter if you are a new customer, or by email if you have reset your security information) log in to My Accounts by entering your user ID, password and memorable word. Once these details have been entered correctly, you will be prompted to enter the activation key. You can then destroy the written record of the key as you will not need it again.
