OUR COMMUNITY

As well as lending to teachers across England and Wales, we can also able to consider applications from people of any occupation.

Your local building society

Originally based in Hamilton House in London, our office was moved to Allenview House in Wimborne in 1976, and we've been here ever since.

We frequently achieve recognition for the quality of customer care we provide, with recent accolades including being nominated for 'Best Local Building Society' for 7 years in a row at the What Mortgage Awards, and finalists in the Moneyfacts' 'Regional Lending Provider of the Year' and 'Best Building Society Savings Provider' categories.

How We Can Help You

If you're looking to purchase or remortgage a property, we offer a variety of mortgage options to suit your individual circumstances:

  • We support the Help to Buy and Shared Ownership schemes to assist buyers struggling to save a deposit
  • We offer fixed and variable rate mortgage up to 95% loan-to-value, meaning you could buy your first home with just a 5% deposit
  • We offer a bespoke underwriting service and our in-house underwriters will assess your case individually and on its own merits
  • You will be given one point of contact who will guide you through the entire mortgage process
  • Your call will always get straight through to the team, never an automated phone menu

Supporting our community

To support our local community, not only will we lend to individuals of any profession, we support a number of local and national charities, and sponsor workshops with many local schools to help students identify their goals and dreams for the future.

Schools Project

The programme is run by Destination Education with staff from Teachers Building Society attending as mentors during the workshops. Julie Holden, Managing Director at Destination Education, said, “We are thrilled that Teachers has really seen the benefits of working with us over the last two years and want to continue. Their sponsorship is crucial and will ensure that together, we can give more young people a better chance of success.”
