Teachers Building Society donates £1000 to local museum

Sep 03, 2018

Wimborne-based Teachers Building Society is delighted to have donated £1000 to the Priest’s House Museum Trust recently.

The Priest’s House museum is dedicated to celebrating and remembering rural life in Dorset and the exhibits are based on the daily lives of people within the house and rural communities in Wimborne and Dorset. The museum building has also been restored and many of the original features remain intact for public appreciation.

The donation from the Society has been used by the Priest's House Museum Trust towards its Revival Project which is an exciting project which will include improving the visibility of the museum, upgrading and updating exhibitions, helping support conservation work and contributing to the museum's operating costs.

Emma Ayling, Museum Director, said, “The Priest's House Museum Trust is extremely grateful to the Teachers Building Society for their donation towards the Revival project. This donation has contributed to the Museum receiving additional funds from the Heritage Lottery Fund and being able to make the project a reality, which will enable the community of East Dorset to have a Museum that they can be proud of and engage with in now and in the future.

This community support is vitally important to the Trust.”

Teachers Building Society is the only local based building society and provides a range of savings accounts and mortgages.
