Outside the classroom, Sarah-Jane is also a Brownie leader - ‘Screech’ is her traditional Girlguiding name. With two demanding roles to fit into her schedule, finding enough time to organise her finances can be a challenge. There again, the Society's service comes up trumps.
"Sometimes it can be difficult to contact providers during term time, but the opening hours at Teachers are slightly later, which makes it a lot easier to get in touch. Also, it’s easy to go through everything in my own time as all the details are laid out really clearly on the website.”
The numbers all stacked up for Sarah-Jane when it came to opening her account: “Everything seemed really quick and efficient, and everyone I spoke to was so helpful,” she explains. “If I'm asked how the Society could improve its service, I can honestly say that nothing springs to mind.”
So, with her savings all sorted and her students and Brownies keeping her busy, what are Sarah-Jane’s future financial goals? “I am now starting to think about buying my first home,” she reveals. “Knowing that Teachers Building Society was originally set up to help people like me onto the property ladder, I would definitely consider getting a mortgage with Teachers when the time comes.”
