IT Service Desk Engineer

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are recruiting for a Service Desk Engineer to join a dynamic IT department to act as a point of contact to help colleagues’ address general IT issues. You will do this by diagnosing, analysing, troubleshooting and resolving IT problems quickly. You will also take ownership of issues and route them to the 2nd level internal IT support staff and in some cases external partners. The roles will also support IT Operations by installing, upgrading, supporting, and resolving issues relating to servers, computers, printers, scanners, phones and other Infrastructure/Network related software and hardware primarily covering the Microsoft stack.
Your responsibilities will include
• Answer incoming support calls via the telephone or tickets via the Service Desk system
• Troubleshoot and resolve tickets in line with agreed SLA’s
• Support hardware rollouts of Thin Clients, Desktops & Laptops
• Promote to suppliers where appropriate to maintain the integrity of the infrastructure and business applications
• Completing user on boarding and off boarding processes
• Support access and identity management to enable colleagues to securely access society resources
• Support remote enabling working environments
• Document learnings and data capture to support sharing of technical and process related information with the team
Essential
Hold qualifications and certifications in related disciplines
Previous experience of providing 1st line IT Support.
Knowledge of:
• Microsoft Windows Operating systems
• Windows Server Update Services
• Network Printers
• VoiP
• IT Equipment Provisioning
Experienced
• Windows operating systems updates
• Active Directory - creating user accounts, profiles, security etc.
• Exchange server Mailbox administration
• Monitor Malware Applications
• IP Telephony/Unified Communications
Desirable
Knowledge of:
• Citrix Xenapp
• enterprise anti-virus, malware
• Cisco Switches/Routers
• TCP/IP, DHCP, LAN, WAN networking principles
• Office 365
• Familiarity with Microsoft Azure and Azure Active Directory
• SharePoint Online
• Moderate knowledge of windows server operating systems
• Printer support
