A​bout the role

We are looking for an experienced Chief Operating Officer (SM24) with a “hands-on” approach and a strategic and operational IT and sales track record from a market-leading financial institution.

As our COO, your primary remit will be to manage all operational and information technology areas of the business to ensure the annual plan's targets are met whilst being compliant with all prudential and conduct regulations/principles and statutory obligations. As a member of the Society’s executive team, ​you will play a key part in commercial, tactical, strategic and management decision making.

  • At least 5 years' relevant experience in a financial institution  
  • Experience of developing and implementing operational and IT strategies
  • Knowledge of IT strategic and operational issues
  • Comprehensive knowledge of regulatory requirements applicable to the banking and building sector
  • Experience of managing and motivating a team, recognising and demonstrating the importance of people, culture and values in delivering success
  • Experience of senior management or otherwise contributing to the strategic direction of a business
