Chief Executive of Teachers Building Society, James Bawa, has been appointed to the Smaller Businesses Practitioner Panel at the Financial Services Authority (FSA).
The panel was set up by the FSA to represent the views and interests of smaller regulated firms and to provide advice to the FSA on its policies and strategic development of financial regulation. James Bawa is a strong advocate of diversity in financial services and has been at the helm at Teachers Building Society for 9 years. His second term as member of the FSA’s Regulatory Decisions Committee is coming to an end this November.
James says “I’m delighted and proud to have been appointed to represent the building society sector on the FSA’s Smaller Businesses Practitioner Panel. Teachers Building Society plays a vital role in the education sector and local community and I am well aware of the impact of regulatory changes on organisations such as ours. I hope that my experience will add to the Panel’s expertise and that I can help to express the views of similar organisations in financial services.”
