About Us
Teachers Building Society was founded in 1966 to help teachers to own their own homes. Today, our mortgage service is available to people who work in education as well as everyone in Dorset. We also provide a competitive range of savings products, available to all.
- We aim to provide a truly personal service, whether dealing with our members direct or via mortgage intermediaries.
- We are committed to helping first-time buyers and have a long history of supporting the Government's affordable home ownership schemes such as FirstBuy and shared ownership.
- We are a mutual organisation run for the benefit of our members. This means that instead of having to pay dividends to shareholders we can offer great deals to both our mortgage and savings customers.
- We frequently achieve recognition for the quality of customer care we provide, with recent accolades including being named 'Best Local Building Society' at the What Mortgage Awards 2011 and winning 'Excellence in Treating Customers Fairly' at the Mortgage Finance Gazette Awards 2012.
